Polyethylene Film Processing Method

- Jan 25, 2021-

Polyethylene film, a film made of polyethylene, its hygienic properties meet the requirements of food packaging. According to different processing methods, it can be divided into blown film, cast film and extrusion coating film. The thickness of the composite polyethylene film can be about 20um for the thinner and more than 100um for the thicker. The polyethylene currently available on the market includes high density polyethylene (hdpe, also known as low pressure polyethylene), medium density polyethylene (mdpe), low density polyethylene (ldpe, also known as high pressure polyethylene), linear low density polyethylene ( lldpe). Films made of polyethylene have hygienic properties that meet the requirements of food packaging.

Linear low-density polyethylene is classified into four-carbon linear (polymerization of butene and ethylene), six-carbon linear (polymerization of hexene and ethylene), and eight-carbon linear (polymerization of hexene and ethylene) according to the different raw materials used. The polyethylene used for the composite heat-sealing layer is mainly low-density polyethylene and linear low-density polyethylene (some products use medium-density and high-density polyethylene film as the heat-sealing layer), and generally use two kinds of polyethylene Use after blending in a certain proportion. Some, according to customer needs, blend a certain proportion of six-carbon or eight-carbon linear low-density polyethylene to increase the tensile strength of the film. More demanding is to blend the more expensive metallocene polyethylene to improve the low-temperature heat-sealability, high heat-seal strength, and high heat-tack strength of the polyethylene film, and to enhance the anti-pollution performance of the seal.
